Welcome!
The Student Services team is dedicated to developing, implementing, and providing relevant information, strategies, and connections to individual offices across the university, and offering support for professional students obtaining their degree at a distance.
The Student Services team is readily available via email at studentservices@interpro.wisc.edu.
The Student Services team values and recognizes the unique needs of working engineers studying at a distance and the unique personal and professional needs of each of our students. We strive to keep current on policies and procedures across varying campus offices, in order to provide timely, relevant, and actionable information and connections to campus offices that give personal and educational value to our students. Our primary goal is to limit the amount of time our students spend on administrative tasks and navigating the bureaucratic structure, so the majority of time is spent where it matters most—engaging with peers and instructors in coursework. In so doing, we hope to play a part in fostering student success and ensuring that each student receives the quality educational experience they deserve and expect.
The Student Services team coordinates a variety of academic and non-academic administrative tasks and acts as an advocate for students within the Office of Engineering Professional Development, College of Engineering, and University of Wisconsin–Madison campus community. Student Services provides assistance to students from the time they apply through graduation and beyond, assisting students in activities including admissions, registration, financial aid, tuition payment, academic progress, graduation, and assistance working with a wide variety of campus offices and services.

Enrollment is verified each term and if you are not enrolled in the appropriate course(s) by the first day of the semester, you will receive an email from Student Services.
Access to Online Course Sites in Canvas LMS
Once a student has officially enrolled in their course(s) via their online student center, they will automatically be enrolled into the appropriate online course site (in Canvas LMS). Please note the following information regarding student access to online course sites in Canvas LMS.
- There can up to a 6-hour delay from the time a student enrolls in myUW, to time that the Canvas LMS syncs and updates enrollment data. If you are adding courses late or during the beginning of a semester, please keep this in mind.
- Also note that online course sites will not be published (or accessible to students) until just before the first day of the semester. Typically online course sites are published (accessible to students) on the Thursday afternoon before the first day of the semester, however this is at the discretion of the instructor.
Once a Canvas course site is published, students can access their online course site in several ways:
- Via the UW Course Dashboard
- By adding the “Learn@UW” widget to their MyUW portal
- From the UW-Madison Canvas Dashboard
Tuition Payments
Tuition is charged on a per credit basis and will not be calculated until you have officially enrolled in courses. The cost per credit is based on the amount set annually by the College of Engineering Office of Engineering Professional Development. Tuition invoices will be sent to your UW email account. Each student is responsible for paying this invoice before the due date printed on the invoice. It is your responsibility to maintain the accuracy of your personal information. Failure to pay because you do not receive an invoice due to inaccurate information of failure to check your UW email account is not sufficient reason to waive the late payment penalty.
Payment Options
- Check
Follow the directions you receive with your tuition invoice. Be sure to send your check directly to the address listed on the invoice, NOT to the College of Engineering. - Company purchase order, voucher, or direct billing
Please email a company PO or voucher before the start of each semester. The PO or Voucher must include the following information: your full name, your Campus ID#, the tuition amount to be covered, number of semesters that coverage applies, and the address for submitting invoices to your company for payment including a contact person and phone number. - e-Check
You can pay your tuition by electronic fund transfer from your checking account. You will receive directions on how to do this with your tuition bill or in your myUW Student Center. FAQs about Tuition Account eBill/ePayment. - Credit Card
- Credit Card Payment link
- Only accepted online
- Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover (along with JCB) are accepted
- There is a 2.75% credit card service charge; this fee is not refundable; the service fee is accessed and retained by our credit card servicer, Higher Office
- A debit card can be entered if it can be used as a credit transaction
- Payment applies immediately
- Prior to the student submitting the payment, the dollar amount of the service fee is displayed when the student selects to use credit card as the payment method
- This payment method is not available to third party organizations
Late payment, non-payment
You must pay tuition in full on or before the payment deadline to avoid a late payment fee. Key dates and deadlines are posted in your student center, on your emailed invoice, and at the Registrar’s website. Payments received by the Bursar after the tuition bill due date will be assessed a one-time $100 late payment fee. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Bursar has received your payment in advance of the due date. Be sure to provide adequate time for delivery if paying my mail. If paying by credit card, it is important to allow time for any possible technical difficulties.
Non-payment of fees will result in an enrollment hold being placed on your account that will prevent you from enrolling in your future course(s) until the past due tuition and any related fees have been paid in full. The University does not currently provide payment plans.
Tuition Refund Schedule
Once you enroll in your course(s) you will be responsible for the payment of tuition. Refunds of varying amounts are based on the schedule set by the Registrar. The tuition refund dates can be found in your student center and the registrar website. Typically, the following schedule is observed:
- 100% refund through the end of the 2nd week of the Fall and Spring semesters (or through the end of the first week of the Summer semester)
- 50% refund through the end of the 4th week of the Fall and Spring semesters (or through the end of the second week of the Summer semester)
- 0% refund after the 4th week of the Fall and Spring semesters (or after the second week of the Summer semester).
Financial Aid
The most up-to-date information regarding financial aid can be found at the Office of Student Financial Services.
Students in our Master of Engineering (ME) programs are encouraged to work directly with Martina Diaz (608-262-3060) in the Office of Student Financial Services.
Important Notes:
- All official correspondence will be sent to your wisc.edu email account by federal mandate. It is your responsibility to monitor that email account for important financial aid information.
- Any financial aid award that you accept will automatically be applied to your student account to pay tuition and fees. The Bursar’s Office will send any remaining funds after tuition has been paid in the form of a check to the mailing address listed in your myUW Student Center. Make sure your mailing address and other personal information is up to date in your Student Center.
